Spelling Bee winners
A bug well done to all of year 3 for today’s spelling Bee challenge. Beech class winner was Louis Howard, well done Louis! Elm class winner was Bethany Carroll , excellent work Bethany! Olive class winner was Amelie Tomlinson, super spelling Amelie!
Rainy May PE days
It’s been a bit of a wet May so far so we’ve had a dodgeball tournament in our PE lessons. The children are really good at working as a team and it was a great competition.
Elm has BEEn busy
Today Amy and Ethan from the Bee Centre visited Heyhouses. They told us all about bees and we learned lots of really interesting facts. We tasted two types of honey which were delicious.
BEE amazing in Olive
Today, we had the Bee Centre visit Heyhouses. Amy and Ethan came to talk to us all about bees and it was so interesting. We learned lots more interesting facts, we tasted two types of honey and we spotted the queen bee in the hive. Bees are so amazing!

Rocking Roman Day
Success! We finally got our Roman Day. All the children looked absolutely fantastic in their costumes. We had lots of fun learning some Latin, making catapults, Roman PE, Roman numerals and designing Roman menus.
The great magnet investigation

Marvellous magnets

Keeping active in PE
In our PE lessons this week, we have been completing some different circuits. We have all kept moving the whole time and really enjoyed being active with our friends again. We enjoyed seeing how many jumps we could do in 10 seconds on the speed jump, our highest was Max with 21 jumps!

Hurray for home learners!

Eggcellent DT boxes
In our DT lesson this week, we made a prototype for our Easter boxes and tested how protective they were. We have the children an egg each (we didn’t tell them they were hard boiled) and the children had to knock their box containing their egg off the table. They had some great designs. Here are…
