In Year 1 Science, we have been learning all about the amazing fossil hunter Mary Anning!

We discovered how she found fossils along the Coast and helped scientists learn about prehistoric creatures. Inspired by her work, we have taken part in lots of exciting activities. We carefully examined real and replica fossils and created detailed sketches of what we observed. We explored our creativity by making fossil pictures using chalk, designed fossil-inspired artwork with cotton buds and even carved our own fossils into modelling clay - just like real palaeontologists!

We have loved becoming fossil explorers and learning about the important discoveries Mary Anning made.
