Cherry PE - Indoor Athletics
The weather can't stop us! Our PE focus in Autumn 1 was athletics. We set up circuits inside to work on hurdles, sprinting, aim or throw and javelin. We took it very seriously!
Poplar Children in Need
We looked fantastic, rocking spots everywhere on Friday to celebrate the wonderful fund raising event of Children in Need. We followed Joe Wicks in his final countdown to achieving a full 24 hours of exercise.
A spark of Fun!
On Friday we investigated how to light a simple bulb. We talked about what electricity is, how it flows and the need for a closed circuit. We also talked about safety and how we must NEVER experiment with electricity in our homes.
Year 3 Children in Need
Today, it was Children in Need. We all accessorised our uniform with something spotty. We were very inventive with our accessories. We supported Joe Wicks on his final 20 minutes of his mammoth 24 hour workout. We were all very hot and tried at the end of it. Click continue reading to see more…
Dip Tasting in Olive Class
Today, we had a very yummy lesson. We tasted a variety of dips and discussed their flavours and what we liked or did not like about each dip. This will help us when we design our own dip next week. Click continue reading to see more photographs.
Reception Remembers
In Reception we learnt how poppies grew in the fields after the fighting had stopped. We remembered all those who have been affected by war by printing poppies with potatoes, making paper poppies of our own and then wearing them with pride!
Remembrance Day 2020 in Year 1!
Today we have had a busy and exciting day. We have been thinking about the soldiers who have fought in the wars and we have been making poppies a symbol of remembrance. At 11 O'clock we even managed to be quiet!
Dip tasting in Elm Class
Today, we had a very fun DT lesson. We tasted different dips and we will soon be designing our own.
More exciting news in Beech Class
Great news today, 3 more children achieved their pen licence! These children have worked extremely hard to keep their handwriting beautifully neat and joined. Well done!
PE in Beech Class

Reception Fireworks and Bonfires
We celebrated bonfire night by making edible sparklers and pretend bonfires. During our Wild At Heart outdoor lesson we collected sticks then added coloured cellophane and twinkly lights for the flames. We then warmed our hands, toasted marshmallows, drank hot chocolate and sang campfire…
Exciting news in Beech Class
