The children have continued to work hard in Year 6 as we progress through the first half of the autumn term. After writing our autobiographies, we have moved onto the pressing issue of whether or not homework should be compulsory. As you can imagine, the children had many opinions on this topic and they used their knowledge of discursive writing to plan and write some well structured and detailed pieces of writing. In Maths, we have consolidated our knowledge of place value and learnt about the different properties of numbers. We are now looking at different methods for calculating and how we can work efficiently. As we approach our exciting visit to Lakeside, we have enjoyed watching the promotional video and have held some question and answer sessions with the children. Last week, the children were very respectful during our visit to Church to celebrate Harvest - thank you for your kind donations. We have continued to develop our hockey skills in Games and the children are showing some good control and accuracy working on the ball.
