The children were intrigued by the ice that had formed in the playground equipment. Mrs Wynne asked what would happen if they took the ice inside the classroom. The children decided to put it on the radiator. This is what the children said about it 

“Now it’ll warm up and melt.”

“It’ll melt into water.”

"It’s getting wetter because it’s melting."

"Now it’s water! It’s all melted!" The children found a leaf stuck inside a lump of ice… "Oh, the leaf is stuck!!" Mrs Wynne asked how the leaf got inside the ice. "It was in the rain first!"

"Rain got on the leaf then it got really cold. Now it's icy!”
