Welcome to Year 5! We have three classes called Apple, Laburnum and Spruce. Mrs. Thornton teaches in Laburnum, Mrs. Powlesland and Mrs. Thornton teach in Apple and Mrs. Austin and Mrs. Byrne teach in Spruce.
We have several other members of staff who work in Year 5 including Miss. Norton, Mrs. Norton, Mrs. Rouse, Mrs. Paine and Mrs. Atkinson.

Welcome to Apple Class!
We are a happy, friendly bunch who love to learn. Our class is made up of 30 super children and our teacher is Mrs. Powlesland. As we are now part of the upper juniors we are learning to become independent learners whilst also developing our group work skills. In year 5 we have lots of fantastic topics to get our teeth into and we can't wait to get started!
Useful information:
- P.E. is on Wednesdays and Fridays. Please come to school dressed in your school coloured plain PE t-shirt, black shorts and / or navy / black joggers and a navy / black jumper. Please also wear trainers.
- My Maths homework is set each Friday to be completed for the following Friday.
- Other homework will be given on a Friday to be returned by the following Friday.
- Planners will be required to be in school EVERYDAY.
- Planners will be checked on a Tuesday (at least one read) and a Friday (at least three reads).

Our class is made up of 30 fabulous, 9 and 10 year old children. Life in Year Five is great fun, with lots of hard work to keep us busy!
