Welcome to the Year 4 home learning pages.

Below you will find general information about work expectations should your child be self- isolating or away from school.  You can look at planning and resources for maths, English and additional learning in the special sub-pages provided, these are updated weekly and link to the work your child would be covering if they were in school.

Please remember your teachers are contactable via email.  Drop an email and a photo of some of the work you are doing or get in touch if you need help.

If your child is off school, we would like you to continue with daily reading at home using Bug Club.

Each child has been given their password in their  "Things To Learn At Home" book. Alternatively, you can also read books from your own bookshelves at home. At present, planners are to be kept in school but we would love to hear about any reading that is taking place, you could email your class teacher.  Ask questions about the text, make predictions and compare events to real life experiences.  Encourage your child to observe punctuation when they read aloud.

Times tables

Children have access to Timestable Rockstars.

Each child has been given their password in the "Things To Learn At Home" book. These should be practised daily for around 10 to 15 minutes.

My Maths

MyMaths is usually set for homework - we may use lessons and activities in MyMaths to support learning during lockdown.

Homework Books

Your child may have their maths and/or English homework book at home.  You could acess learning in here if your child is more comfortable with this.

Children have a weekly spelling test on a Wednesday.  Spellings are provided in the 'home learning pack' sent home at the start of the school year.  Alternatively they are available on the school website.  Click here to access them.  Some children have been given personal spellings, should you require a further copy of these, please email your class teacher.

Please still run a spelling test on a Wednesday.

Purple Mash

Children can access Purple Mash using the logins provided  in their "Things to learn at home" book. Here they can play many fun educational games based on all aspects of the curriculum.  They are familiar with this platform as it is used in school for coding, animation and other educational learning across the curriculum.
